Utah #1

Hey guys, so I have decided to break it down day by day, since I have too much to write in just one post and everyone will stop reading by the second page, lol. So here we go.

Day 1: Friday, September 21st
Josh and I got up around 6 am and left at 7 am to make it to my flight at 9 am. After checking in we had some spare time so we hung out and watched the sun come up over the landing strip. Here is a picture of us, I don’t think Josh even brushed his teeth, he rolled out of bed and got in the car!My flight to Toronto was just under 2 hours long and it was a nice flight. I flew WestJet and really enjoyed myself. The flight attendants were really funny and super friendly. I got to sit in my own row and sprawled out to have a cap nap with my fuzzy blanket, and I watched TLC on their satellite tvs.
Once in Toronto, I picked up my baggage and made my way through customs. I had a HUGE 6 hour layover and so I bought tons of rag mags and some candy to entertain me. I tried to arrange to meet up with my brother, but he had school so he couldn’t make it out. Finally, after a long long wait I got to board my plane to Utah. It was really exciting, for about 15 minutes. Then I was bored again. Thank heavens Beckey’s kids let me borrow one of their dvd players so I could watch a movie. I would have gone bonkers without it.
So 4 hours later we were landing in SLC (6:30 pm their time, 9:30 ours). I was wiped out from the day of traveling until I saw the mountains! It was awesome. I was looking around trying to find the temple, but I couldn’t because I was on the wrong side of the plane, but I saw TONS of mountains. It was so cool. This is a picture from the airport parking lot. I was just in awe of the mountains, I had to take a picture. You'll see in later posts that I end up taking a lot of mountain pictures. When I got off the plane Aubrey was waiting right there for me because she had just gotten off a plane from California. I was soooo excited to see her. It had been almost a year (the last time I saw her was at my wedding). So we got my luggage and she showed me to the crew room where she goes to work and then we were off to discover Utah!
First we went to her apartment and rushed to get ready for a wedding reception that night for her friend Ashley. I though it would be weird to just show up, but it was nice. I got to meet some of Aubrey’s friend AND Sharee was there! It’s been a year since I had seen her to and I got to meet her husband Court and it was just great. One of the coolest things though was that they had ColdStone ice cream for a treat and I got the brownie one with gummy bears and sprinkles. It was awesome, you guys were right!
After the reception we drove to Springville, where Aubrey’s parents live, and we spent the night there. It was so nice to see Mark and Wendy (Aub’s parents) again. I met them last summer and I just think they are great. It was too bad we didn’t get to hang out more, but they were going to San Francisco early the next morning, and they were gone the whole time I was there. Maybe next time! So that was my night. I’ll leave you with some pictures of Aubrey’s house. This first one is a picture of what they see when they walk out their front door. The mountains are like, boom, right there. It was so nice. Here is a picture of their house. It doesn’t do it justice really, it was 100% prettier than what is captured here. I called it “the house on Wysteria Lane” like from Desperate Housewives, because it was just sooo pretty. So that was day one. I might post another one this afternoon, but if not, than I promise tomorrow morning.
Thanks for being so patient :)

Probably a good idea to post several posts...you had a LOT of pics on Facebook! I'm glad you loved the mountains! That is what I miss most about Utah (besides my family) because I always know what direction I am going...the mountains are always in the east! I get confused here driving sometimes...if only we could see the water all the time! keep'em comin'
