Reassurance

I am in need of some reassurance.
Lyla has to go for an MRI next Thursday. I am nervous. Not so much of the huge magnet that she'll be going into (tho proven safe, I am skeptical), but more of the general anesthesia she'll be under. I don't like the idea of her being put under, and away from me for any amount of time.
So please, someone tell me that their kids been thru it before. She's only 9 months, I feel like she's just too little for things like this. I know it's for the best, we want to find out what's going on to make her better, but I wish there were another way.
So yea, please someone reassure me. I am a unnecessarily scared mumma.
Thanks

Hey Girl! So, maybe you should e-mail me and fill me in! What's going on with her?
Here is a little reassurance for ya... something you already know, but always great to be reminded of. I haven't been through that, but I am a mom so I can relate. It's hard to see your kids (especially babies) go through anything... even a scraped knee! It's our natural instinct to just want to cuddle them and love them and baby them!
Before you go and do it just have her Daddy give her a priesthood blessing! It'll give you lots of peace and comfort knowing that you've got Heavenly Father's help! There is nothing like the power of the priesthood. Not to get too cheesy for ya, but that is always very reassuring for me! We'll all say a little prayer for your sweet little Lyla! ...and a few extras for her mommy too! Good Luck! Love ya!

Kaylee had to be put under anestesia to get her tubes put in. It was quick she did great. She was wabbly when she woke up for about 15 minutes but was absolutely fine with it. Lyla will do just fine and you'll be great. The staff are well trained and will be gentle and attentive with her. Amen to Karlee get a blessing for her and it will comfort you.

I can relate to your anxiety! I get like that everytime that Hunter has to see the cardiologist! I think that seeing them hooked up to machines and such is worse for us then them. I am saying a big amen to getting a priesthood blessing. I know that I don't personally taken advantage of the priesthood in my life, but when we found out about Hunter's heart condition we went straight to the Allred's and Colin and Donny gave Hunter a blessing that I know will provide comfort to our family forever! Good luck! And will be praying for ya!

I think you should call Tanya...I think she can relate. But I too would be so scared. It is sooo hard to see that. But the doc's know what they are doing and if it wasn't safe they wouldn't do it. Don't forget to use the P-holder card from Josh. Hook up a blessing!

Don't worry bebe..! She'll be in good hands and they'll take good care of her. The whole thing will be over before you know it and I'm sure everything will go smoothly. When it's all over Lyla will just be happy to have her mama there to snuggle her and make her feel better. I'll say a little prayer for her, but I'm sure everything will be fine! xo

It's a scary thing to see your baby go through this. We discovered that our son, Camden had epilepsy when he was 6 months old. It was a terrible time for our family because the doctors had him tested for everything under the sun. He was hooked up to every kind of machine and poked and prodded untl he was diagnosed with epilepsy. It is very stressful but I totally agree that priesthood blessing is the best way to go. Our son is now 11 yrs old and is very healthy and active. The doctors and nurses were very kind and gentle and supportive...Lyla will be in good hands. We'll keep you all in our prayers.

I was put under as a kid a few times for knee surgery and I was just fine! Of course you're worried and I think all parents would be!

I agree with everyone else, get Josh to give her a blessing and everything will work out!

Having our twins in the NICU now for 7 weeks with probably 3 more weeks to go, I totally understand the fears and being scared. It is so hard to see our own children go through something that would also make us nervous as adults to go through. What the NICU nurses always tell us is that thankfully they do not remember any of this..
Though the girls have not had an MRI.. I can reassure you that the staff know what they are doing and your little Lyla will be just Fine..

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Hey ..so I have no reassurance from a mothers perspective (obviously) but from the perspective of a future x-ray technologist I can tell you that MRI is absolutely safe. It's the safest imaging test they can do especially for someone so little because it doesn't use any radiation. MRI produces great images and the magnet is proven not to damage anything.

With the safety of MRI and the blessings from Heavenly Father, all will be a'okay. Worry not Julia and I hope Lyla gets better soon :)
