I hate...

Babies'R'Us. I am so mad right now, I can't even talk about it.
In other, not so sour news, we heard the heartbeat!! 153, strong and loud. It was awesome.
I'll be back once I calm down from this babies crap.

Baby Belly

I already posted my belly pictures on facebook, but I thought I'd post the most recent one on here. Please note: I am not getting fat, I am growing a baby...who just decided to "pop" recently...is that normal?
We're going for a check up on Monday, fingers crossed we'll finally get to hear the heartbeat! Stay tuned :)

Baby time

So, you can all read this post and laugh and poke fun all you want, but I am happy so there! The other day I bought my first real baby item (not including the clothing I have purchased here and there because they were on sale). I bought a stroller! It was super exciting and made the fact that I am having a baby more real. I got it on sale (thank heavens, it was super overly expensive) at Babies R' Us. I had been looking at this kind for a while now and I really liked certain patterns from Graco, but found it hard to find a place that carried the patterns I liked. Sears only carried the "Samuel" collection, and like it's name, I found it to be quite masculine. Anyways, it doesn't matter now, because I found everything I want at Babies R' Us, all in the pattern I like. I registered there (another thing I am a little early for but whatever), and hopefully the pack and play (which I am eyeing next) comes in stock soon.

So yea, I brought home the stroller and the next day I set it up and now it's all ready for baby, who arrives in like 178 days or something rediculous like that. I suppose it will find its way to the storage closet for a bit, but for now, it's in my living room. I love it.Side note: yes that is a baby toy I have attached to the handle. I am the readiest mummy ever! Side side note: Check what's on the TV. Yup, it's Wii. Josh finally found one. He's pretty excited. I suppose I was too. I now have constant tennis elbow tho. I went for a massage last night and told my girl that I probably have knots from bowling etc. She just laughed.
Oh, and I made my appointment for UCBaby. It's March 27th and I have a hard time knowing it's sooo far away. Not really tho I suppose. I can wait! Looking forward to feeling baby kick sometime soon tho, maybe as early as a week or two from now. Hope you all are doing well. Hope to see you all soon.

Update...late...

Oh man, I know, I know. I am not so good at keeping y’all up to date. But honestly, nothing too big has been going on (and besides, I have been occupying my time trying to figure out how to help Britney. Poor girl). A while back we went to Kristine and Davis’s for supper, and it was super good. She made some pretty delicious chicken! And then not too long ago we had the Sorensen’s over for supper. Josh made ribs and it was pretty good. Actually, I don’t really like ribs, so I wasn’t a huge fan, but I am glad everyone else liked them! It was nice to spend a little time with them, since it’s been forever since I have seen like anyone. I’m like a homebody now. It’s pretty pathetic. I work, come home, eat supper and go to bed. I like to be in bed around 8. Even with 11 hours sleep, I still feel like I am not getting enough. I am hoping the “honeymoon” trimester effect kicks in soon so I can stop feeling like poop! I am still on Diclectin (had to get Dr. Calder to write me another prescription) since food and I are still not getting along. This baby better be freaking perfect when it comes out, since it seems to feel the need to steal all my nutrients and then make me throw up the rest! I’m kidding, I am glad it’s getting what it needs and I am grateful that I even have the chance to be preggers. Josh and I have yet to hear the heartbeat but we’re hopeful that the 28th will be our lucky day. Fingers crossed for us ok?
Hmmm…nothing much else in other news. Josh and I don’t do a lot, since I am on the freakin’ 3 month flu like plan. Josh has been getting back into his school and work routine. His schedule is the pits, with classes almost every evening. It sucks because we’re spending a lot on gas to and from town but I just keep telling myself it’s his last semester and then he’s done! I am so proud of him. I know he doesn’t see graduating as a big deal, but I think it is a huge accomplishment. He’s a smart cookie.
So yea, I guess that’s it. People have been asking about posting baby belly pictures, but honestly, there isn’t too much to look at. Oh, and I just want to go on a little rant for a second. I don’t know why people feel the need to touch my stomach! It’s not baby yet. It’s just bloating. It’s funny, because people come up (the best is when it’s people I hardly know) and they rub my tummy and say “oh, there’s a baby in there” and I am more like “it’s more like you’re rubbing my gas…thank you”. Oh man, it’s so weird. And awkward. Kristine, I know you had a thing with this too. I totally know what you mean now! And now I am done ranting. Hope you all have a good day!
Oh, I figured I would add pictures of when we went skating a while back. Best story of the night: Josh had his dad's skates and spent all this time lacing them up and the stood up and the blades broke right off the bottom. Pretty funny. Glad Jake Richards lent us his so he could squeeze into them for the hour long family skate!

The Holidays

So, I suppose it’s time for a little holiday recap. Brought to you in part by the letter Q (it never gets its just recognition) and the number 25 (I love this number, no idea why).
Let’s begin on Christmas Eve where we went to Josh’s parent’s house for Chinese food. The food was super yummy, even tho I totally didn’t eat a lot. I was trying to be more of a “keep what you eat” down kinda gal, so once I started feeling sick, I gotta stop. Baby needs its beef and broccoli! Then we went to the Nativity Pageant and even tho it was super freezing out, it was a nice time. I love the mingling part afterwards too. I got to chat with Keah and Karen, whom I don’t get to see often so that was nice. Karen and I captured it on camera, of course. Don’t we look so cute in our winter apparel? Josh and I made it home around 9 pm, and hurried to bed so Santa could come. I was so excited that I was up by 6 am on Christmas day. I laid in bed until about 7:30, couldn’t wait any longer, and jumped on Josh until he conceded. We did the whole opening presents from each other thing. Josh got me some cute clothes that I can wear with my growing tummy, and some books and stuff. He’s a very good present picker outer, I always love what he gets me.
We then made our way to my mum and dad’s house for a day of feasting and funness. I think you can all agree that the best place to be over the holidays is at your mum’s house. You can eat as much as you want, because calories don’t count. You can lounge and gossip and just enjoy each others company. I just love going there. I feel like it’s really Christmas when we walk into their house. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that Santa leaves us tons of goodies and presents either. We are totally spoiled rotten.
We had an early supper so we could get back to Josh’s parents house for a few hours (since they won’t let us open gifts before the actual Christmas day). My mum made the best food, and I didn’t even throw it up. No wait, I did. But still it was worth it!
By the time we got home that evening, Josh and I were totally tuckered out. I don’t even remember what we did, but I think it involved me popping in a movie and falling asleep.
Over the next few days, in which I did not work at all, yay, we got to visit friends and play Wii (which I am in love with and plan on buying one as soon as flippin’ Future Shop gets some in). We got to eat leftovers and visit with my brother who was in from Toronto. I even convinced everyone to get in a family photo. You can tell by the results that no one was overly excited…but at least half of us faked it! I don’t know what’s with my family hating pictures. And then I marry Josh..the Anti-Smiler! On New Years Eve we were invited to Doug and Jessamyn’s for some good ol’ fashioned gaming. We played board games and video games and it was awesome. Tragically, the girl team lost and we owe the boys supper. Actually, I don’t think it’s that bad because I wont mind cooking with friends around. And there is that whole “if you cooked, you don’t have to do the dishes” rule. Nice. Claudine was nice enough to snap some pictures of our good times. Josh and I played boxing and she even got that on video. I don’t know how to put a video on here, so just imagine. Oh, and I won, so picture that too! Jessamyn, Kristine and I whooped the men bums at Settlers. Sadly we all lost to J.J and Sheldon in Pop Culture Trivial Pursuit.

Oh, I also got to visit with friends from my school days. Jess and Gill were both back in town for the season and we got together at Adele's place for a nice lunch. I got to tell them my news and we we're all giddy talking about Baby B. P.S We are pointing to my belly...sorta!

Oh, another thing too. I got to make a Gingerbread House on the 23rd and I was really excited, even if the grinch I live with didn't want to help. So, yea I made it all alone. I thought I had done a really good job, until 2 minutes after I put it on display I heard some cracking, I turned around and my house was falling apart. It's ok tho, it was nice for those few minutes it was up.
All and all, it was a super nice holiday break and I was sour to have to get back to work. I just keep counting down the days until maternity leave (178, in case you were wondering). Hope you are all recovering from your festivities and that the New Year brings more fun (if that’s even possible).
Oh, side note: Ashley Quist, you best be having the bestest day today. You’re 24!!! Yay!
