Tired little teddy bear

I am so lazy, I don’t even want to do a post. Yawn! I think it’s from all the sun I got on the weekend. It was awesome! See, Josh and Chad had to go to this youth camp so Ashley and I had a sleepover. We hung out on Friday night, going out for supper at Your Father’s Moustache and then going to see No Reservations (Catherine Zeta Jones, Aaron Ekhart). The supper was tasty and the movie was super. But hello, I wish someone would have told me I needed to bring the Kleenex. I cried a few times throughout the film, and I had nothing to stop my tears!
After the movie we came home and dyed our hairs! Ashley stuck with ol’ faithful and I went a little darker than normal. It took some getting used to, but now I like it. I wish I would have taken some pictures, but we were too caught up with fumes!
We finally made it to bed around… well I don’t know what time it was, but I was super tired. We got up around 9 the next morning and decided to go to the beach cause it was so nice out. We tried calling a few girls to come out to play, but no one was available so it was just Ash and I. We stayed for 2 hoursish and decided that was enough heat for one day. Looking back now, I am glad that’s all we stayed for, cause I got home to find out I got burnt (even tho I was wearing sunscreen). To cool myself off, I decided to go to my parents place and take a dip in the pool. Josh came out later in the evening to join me, he was all sweaty from the youth activities that took place in an un air conditioned building (and they were wearing their suit and ties!). We went home that evening and zonked out quite early (we’re like old married people). We had been so tired, that we slept until like 9:30 and realized we were going to be late for church, which I hate. No, I don’t hate church, I hate being late for church. So we did the whole church thing (oh nursery, how I loathe thee. Actually, this week wasn’t that bad at all, ‘cept for the ants) and came home for a Sunday afternoon rest. Sunday evening we went to my parents again for some pool time and had a nice supper with what my mum feels was the best corn on the cob ever. We made it home early (in time for another show that Josh is in to, Big Brother) and then went to bed. Tres excitant, je sais!
So that was that. Nothing to big happened, but I was just so happy to get to the beach. I can’t believe tomorrow is August 1st!!! I feel like life is just flying by.
I can’t just post and not leave a picture (Melissa….you are the worst for this!) so here is one of Morgan enjoying some good ol’ baby food. She looks so thrilled eh?I am so glad that Rob works in the evening and Kelly and I can hang out.
Hope you all have a great week and if something fun pops up, I’ll post again. Ciao

Josh's Birthday Weekend

Well, Ashley beat me to it, but I thought I’d post some pictures of our valley adventures. We had a great weekend, and I think Josh was happy I planned this little trip for his birthday. We got to do quite a few things and surprisingly, the rain held off the whole time (mind you, on the way home, it made up for it).
So Friday we all got off work a little early (which was nice, since we had to drive for a couple hours to get there) and we took off around…well I don’t know what time it was, but we got there around 8:30 I think. It was still light out, so we got to get a nice look at the luscious cottage that we rented. It was awesome! Decorating from I don’t know what era (straw hats with peach ribbon bows, cross stitched artwork, a couch borrowed from my great grandmother…), but it did the trick. A roof over our head was all we needed and all we got really. The sleep was less than desirable, but hey, we had satellite t.v so really… (Ashley and I later decided that maybe they should ditch the t.v idea and work more on getting nicer sleeping arrangements). We had a nice view from the deck though (if it hadn’t been foggy we could have seen the water and New Brunswick) and we had a campfire, which is really all I wanted, so score on that one. Chad and I were first to have s’mores and they were darn good. I flipping love roasted marshmallows and kinda want some right now…
Here we are, enjoying the quality time together. I wish we didn’t have to work so much, we could do this more often.
So we went to bed after watching some t.v and playing some games. When we woke up the next morning, we were excited to see that it wasn’t raining, so we packed up (after Josh and Chad had a little visit to the pool) and headed to the Upper Clements Wildlife Park. I won’t lie, it wasn't as nice as I was expecting, but the comments about feces was well worth it (thank you Josh and Chad for providing the entertainment).
Since the zoo lasted about 2 hours less than expected, we went into “town” and visited some touristy things. We had lunch at this really awful pub, which was later overlooked cause I had some darn good ice cream afterwards.
We visited Fort Anne (I think that’s what it was called) and then headed to the gold course. I think this was my favourite part of the day because of the golf carts! I think golf carts should be used in shopping malls and other areas from now on. I loved it. I had some fun golfing too, but I wasn’t very good at it. The holes were very long and sometimes it took me a good 8 strokes to even get to the green. Josh and Chad were a bit better. I am glad Ashley and I were playing about the same so I wasn’t the only one holding people back. Actually, now that I think about it, Ashley and I were like speed golfers so the boys were holding us up!
We ended out trip with a stop at the New Minas Boston Pizza (clearly the happening spot in that town) and then a scary drive back into the city (the rain was coming down in buckets…I could have cried, but I didn’t wanna look like a dork so I just tried to keep my eyes closed!) I guess we got home around 10:30ish and we were zonked. It was a nice time with good friends, and I hope we can do it again in the future. Maybe this time we can actually go tidal bore rafting (Ashley, you’re planning this one, I am never calling that place again!)

Cottage business

Well kids, I have to say, I am pretty excited for this weekend. Not because it's supposed to rain the whole time or anything, but because Chad, Ashley, Josh and I are going to Annapolis Royal to stay in a cottage and go golfing and swimming and camp firing and stuff. It's going to be lots of fun, well, if it's sunny. If it's not sunny, we'll be playing board and card games (thank goodness for Beckey and Uno!) and watching movies and we're still going to have a campfire. I don't care if I have to hold an umbrella over the pit...I'm gonna make s'mores and I'm gonna love it. Hopefully I will have lots of pictures for when I return to blog on Monday. In the meantime, here is a cute shot of Ashley and I (I work with her mum). I think she likes me soley because I am responsible for the slushies! Oh, and clearly, she is enjoying her summer, look at her tan compared to mine...I sure miss being 7! Hope you all have a great weekend, and hope we do too!

Well I am lacking quite a few pictures that I wanted to post of Josh’s birthday, but I feel I am getting a little behind on what’s been going on, so I had better just go with what I have now.
Josh celebrated his birthday this year more than I think he ever has in the past. It started with a visit to his parents on Tuesday last week (the day before the actual day).
We had a nice supper with summer salads and some good ol’ fried chicken. Josh’s parents got him an ice cream cake (which totally took away from the fact that I got him one too) but whatever.

He got some nice gifts, including this game called the Potty Putter. Which was mega funny, and we totally set it up when we got home to try out (pants on mind you).

We then celebrated his b-day again on the actual day, I got him a Transformers ice cream cake and we had some friends over. Josh turned 24 and so here we have a cake with 24 candles on it. It got quite warm in the kitchen while I was lighting them all, I tell you. The evening continued with a nice little visit with some friends whom we never get to see (Karen, I am talking about you!) Speaking of Karen, I went to her shower (super fun) and am waiting on pictures from that. Here she is holding Morgan for the first time, and realizing she totally wants a baby!

So that's that. as you can see, I am trying to learn how to format my blog layout a little more with pictures and so on. I am not so good at learning things and it has honestly taken me like 20 mins to post this and it should have taken like 5. So we'll see if I keep up with this stuff...Ciao for now brown cow.

Happy Birthday Lynds

There were a few birthday's this week, Josh's being one of them, and Lynds being another. I am waiting for more Josh pictures, so in the meantime, here are some shots of Lynds b-day lunch at Eastside Mario's. She was super stoked that they came over and sang to her, and even more thrilled that she got to spin the birthday wheel. She won a cool mug. So, happy b-day Lynds. Oh, and this year for her b-day she got the biggest gift ever, a new house. Her and Darren moved in on her actual birthday and I am excited to go visit and use her firepit outback! S'mores!

Softball anyone?

I feel bad, cause I know I am not updating as frequently as I should, but I have been forgetting to take my camera places, to capture the Kodak moments, and posts just aren’t as fun without pictures, so blah!
I did remember to bring my camera out when Josh and I played softball with some friends, which was lots of fun. So here are some pictures of that. You’ll notice that a lot of the pictures are of kiddies, mainly cause there were so many of them. We had the 2 Young girls, the 2 Calder girls, the Allred baby and puppy, and the 2 White kids. It was crazy. They are all so cute, I couldn’t help but take their pictures.

Overexposed Kristen (one of my fav. girls in nursery)

Kristen and her daddy, Kevin

Big sister Monica (Kristen’s sister)

Gracie’s all smiles (Chloe slept almost the whole time we were out)

Madison lovin’ the slide (still wearing her helmet from bike riding)

Teeg right before mummy, Kim, gets him with the bug spray

Lookin’ a little lost

Tate and mummy, Karlee

Clearly it wasn’t a parents night out…we basically owned the park with the strollers, kids, snacks, bikes etc. And Dayzee May was too cute, putting up with all the curious kiddies.

Josh and Gracie (he’s totally ready for daddy-dom right?)

So after some funness on the playground, we got into our game. It was a good time, followed by some sore arms I am sure. I know that I am feeling it in my back today. P.S there are people on the field, not ants, sorry it looks that way. That’s all I got. This week holds some of Josh’s b-day festivities, so I will be sure to get some pictures of that. Thanks for stoppin’ by.

Parties galore

So, this weekend was like party central for the Halifax area. Not only was it Canada’s birthday, but it was Kat’s b-day and Joyce’s shower, and lots of other fun stuff. So, let me start with Joyce’s shower.
Let me just tell you, planning a going away thing for Joyce in one day was not what I had originally planned for her farewell/maternity leave. She wasn’t supposed to be finished working for another month. But, doctor’s orders made her change her plans, so Friday was her last day here at Extreme. Lynds and I were caught off guard, and it was kinda funny cause we had just planned her shower like the day before (the one that was supposed to happen in July). So, we switched up the plans and had sandwiches, fruit, treats and goodies from Superstore (which by the way, make awesome “half-time” platters that I am in love with). We ordered her a gift from her registry, since it wasn’t available in store at the time, but hope she was still excited. It was a nice time, and actually good planning since Kristi was down to visit. Her and Joyce are about a month apart in due dates, I think, so we had a nice little photo shoot with the bellies. Haha, can you imagine if I looked like this for real, I’d be the ugliest pregnant woman ever, talk about misshapen tummy! So that was Friday afternoon, and then on Friday evening a bunch of us gals went out to dinner to celebrate Kat’s b-day. I love getting together with a bunch of girls to chat and hang out. I think we’ve decided that we’re going to make it a once a month thing, to celebrate all the birthdays for that month. Anyone interested (if you are a girl) is more than welcome to come! Also, since I am a pro baby stealer, feel free to bring your little ones along. So, that’s Friday. On Saturday I went with Meaghan and Jason to Leon’s to look at furniture (I may be a little obsessed) and then I came home and had a nap. That evening we had them over for supper. The boys had bbq salmon and Meags and I stuck with some more land-loving choices. After we digested our food a little, we went to the driving range. Here are some hot model poses from that. Oh, and funny story: Josh and Jason were using Josh's clubs, Jason had a driver and was hitting some balls and all the sudden, we hear Jason go "whoops" and we see this brown thing rolling around on the field. We all thought it was a bird that Jason hit or something, but actually, it was the head of the driver...it had flung off when he hit a ball. It was sooooo funny. Jason was like super sorry and Josh was laughing so hard. It was an old club and it had a hole in the bottom anyways so yea, all fun and games. No one lost an eye.
Sunday we had Kelly, Rob and kids over for supper and it was a nice time too. I made ham in the slow cooker and it turned out wicked. I loved it. I would have to say that my fav. part of the evening was when Rob put scalloped potatoes on Emma’s plate and she gets this disgusted look on her face and says “ UM, EW”. It was so funny, I couldn’t help but laugh. Kelly brought dessert and it was stellar. Yummy chocolate cake with scor bits and whip cream and stuff. Mmm. It was just as good as the dessert that Meags and Jason brought from M&M Meats. It was like macaroon something squares. So good. Had them at the wedding and loved them, and now I know where to get them so yummier J
After Kelly and Rob left (Emma’s bedtime was fast approaching), we went with Whitney and Dan to the fireworks. Well we went to their house first, which I am in love with and may be a tad jealous. In fact, I think I am planning on moving into their basement and I am sure they won’t mind. It’s lovely there and can’t wait for the day that Josh and I get to have a place of our own. The fireworks were ok, but the company was better. Dan is like the funniest guy and he was doing the dumbest things and none of us could help but loose ourselves laughing. Good thing I have strong bladder control. Whitney was constantly like…“sorry about my husband”, it was awesome.
On Monday Josh and I went golfing with my dad. It was my first time ever (thanks Cheryl for lending me your clubs). I had so much fun. I don’t think it seemed like I did after we were done but I was so tired I needed a nap before I could express anything. I hope we get to go again soon, and one day I hope that I get better at it…lol. But, good news, I didn’t whine or complain about the heat or walking at all. I was so proud of myself, and I think dad and Josh were too. Yay! After golf we went out to my parents place for a swim, and then it started to rain so we just hung out. Josh had to work that evening, so I stayed for supper and it was just my parents and I and it was nice. No sister and brother to be mean to me (sigh, can’t wait for us to just get along). So, the evening ended with me returning home for a nice sleep (which could have lasted longer and I wouldn’t have minded, but work would have). And here I am now, updating my blog, waiting for lunchtime and waiting even more for tomorrow cause I am going for a massage. Good times in the Maritimes. Ciao
P.S Thanks to all my fellow bloggers out there who are doing an awesome job at updating. I love you all, you keep me sane here at work sometimes. Bon travail.
P.P.S We were driving down by the Nickelback concert on Sunday night and they were just like between songs, like talking to the crowd, and every second word outta that guys mouth was poopy. I was super like...offended-ish. I can't believe that in this day that people think it's ok to swear like that. Not only that, but over a microphone, to a crowd, at a Canada Day event. I was just not impressed. I am sure none of the people in there even cared, but I did.
