Making Popcorn

Ok, so I have to say, popcorn is one of my favourite snacks and the other day I was getting groceries with Ashley and she said that her and Chad just pop it on the stove, since a big bag of kernels is like 2 bucks and I usually pay like 6 bucks for 12 servings, so here I am like...alright, I am going to try this, and you know what, it was darn good (not as good as Melese's cause she's got a popper and some yummy butter) but I try. So pretty much every night when I am craving a snack I just pop some good ol' corn. Yay.

Ohh the anticipation kills me!

READY!

Only thing, does anyone know how to make it taste buttery without soaking the popcorn in melted butter from the microwave?

Let me know.

Have you ever used butter salt? It's really good! It's a really fine yellowish powder, probably chuck full of nutritious ingredients, but it is not melted butter. LOL

Okay, this might be a no-brainer, but we sometimes use spray butter on our popcorn. Have you done that?? It's supposedly "fat free" so it's better than real butter out of the microwave. And, it helps all the salt stuff to stick better! I love it!!! We don't have those yummy popcorn salts back home. Atleast not that I've ever seen. I'll have to get a stash of them to take home. Although we never use them really, Donny doesn't really like popcorn and I don't usually pop it for myself. Good idea popping it though! I almost just wrote pooping it! Woops!

This is my favorite way of making and eating popcorn...It isn't processed, and it doesn't have extra ingredients and you can make it the way you want. MMMMM good.

Yeah, I have been using that method of popping corn for a while. It tastes more like movie popcorn somehow. It also makes me feel like I am 7 again. Kinda like when Axel Rose sings "Welcome To the Jungle". The memories.
As for the butter issue...try not using butter. Use Peanut butter. Hey, come on, don't scowl your face...it's still "butter".

Yummy I want popcorn. My favorite butter to use is- I cant believe its not butter. Back home they had it in a spray but i'm not sure about here. Karlee might know. So i've heard hot sauce is good on popcorn too. We all need to have a popcorn party and try
a ton of diffrent ways.
Happy Popping!

Have you tried adding the melted butter and salt to the pan before the popcorn is popped? That way when it pops it gets butter and the salt sticks but not too much. Also this may sound weird and it's definitely not as healthy as the other suggestions, but try using just a little bit of oil before you pop it too. It gives it a unique flavor, but you can only add a little bit.... hmmm, I better try that one first, it's been a long time but I think that's what I used to do.

I've been popping corn in the microwave oven since 1972. Simply, put some corn kernels in a brown bag, enclose it and pop for a minute and a half. If the popping slows down, turn off the oven. If you have unpopped kernels, repeat the process. Don't forget to remove the popped corn.
