Hey kids. I just wanted to let you all know that I am not happy about the rain today. I so look forward to going to lunch with Joyce and getting out of the office to walk on the waterfront. Tragically, no can do with weather like this. This is just unacceptable.

BL-BL-BLOGGER for life.
I don’t know what’s with my title, but I just felt like a rap star and it was cool. Or maybe I am just in a really good mood. Funny, I woke up this morning and I didn’t feel the good mood coming on, but here it is. I suppose it might have to do with this little display of flowers that showed up for me this morning! How pretty eh? And you must be wondering why I deserve such a nice boquet (not that you should be wondering, cause seriously, does a girl need a reason to get flowers?). Alas, there is a reason: it’s Administrative Professionals Day!!! Yay for made-up holidays. Along with my flowers, I got a gift card for a night out at the movie with Josh. The office is so thoughtful. It really meant a lot to me. Now, I feel the need to explain this holiday, and encourage all people who have a receptionist, secretary, para-legal, clerical worker etc. to go out and tell them how much they mean to you. So, I stole this little clip-it from wikipedia.com about this luscious day:
Administrative Professionals Day better known as Secretary's Day is an unofficial secular holiday observed on the third or fourth Wednesday of April to recognize the work of clerical employees. It is celebrated as part of a larger Administrative Professionals Week, which takes place during the last full week of April. National Professional Secretaries Week and National Secretaries' Day was created in 1952 through the work of Harry F. Klemfuss of Young & Rubicam. Klemfuss recognized the importance and value of the position to a company or business. His goal was to encourage more women to become administrative assistants (called secretaries at the time). Using his skill and experience in public relations, Klemfuss promoted the values and importance of the job of administrative assistants. In doing so, he also created the holiday in recognition of the importance of administrative assistants.
I mean, if this guy can create awesome reasons to celebrate less acknowledged positions within a company all the power to him. I love it.
In other news, this past week has been boring. Oh, well I did have a few highlights. It’s now time for the weekly rundown (as much as I can remember):

I deserve a slap on the hand
Ok, ok. You can all point at me…I am the worst blogger this week. Normally I try and post at least once a week, but I’ve failed this past one. I have a good excuse though. I’ve been really busy at work, which isn’t a bad thing, seeing as it makes the days go by so much faster. I have been faithfully checking everyone elses blog though. Thank goodness some of us keep up! Kristi, I wanted to thank you for posting pictures of Hunter. I was wondering when someone would (knowing it probably wouldn’t be Tanya). Ashley, you finally updated us, much appreciated. As for Karen, thank goodness you post, often. I wouldn’t know what to do with my morning if I wasn’t reading your up to the day wedding information (ok, maybe not everyday, but more often than myself).
So, I was going to do my weekly rundown, but I don’t remember all that has happened, so I am just gonna blabber on and as I remember one thing, I am sure it’ll lead to another.
I am going to start with Sunday (that’s where all the pictures are coming from this week). Josh and I went to church and helped in Nursery for about an hour. Then I was like “enough is enough” and decided to take the last hour off from that (we were the couple of the week to have the Sunday off to go to our classes). Well, we didn’t actually go. It was super nice out and so Josh and I sat out on the sidewalk. I did manage to get a cute little picture of Josh and one of the little kids (Emmy) from Nursery. She is the cutest eh?
Sunday evening we had Meaghan, Jason and Kellie over for the much anticipated bbq rib night. It was awesome. Josh did a nice job on the bbq and we had enough food to feed the block (thanks “neighbours” for bringing goodies).
We had a nice time chatting, and took a few funny pictures as you can see. Meags idea. The first one wasn't so much funny, but we were just trying to work the timer...kinda blurry. The other ones, Meags said it'd be a fetching good time to have cross eyes while trying to look normal...nice!
Jason and Josh: are those your "normal faces?"I have to apologize now, but I can’t write anymore. My back is killing me here, sitting in this “ergonomic” chair that seems to be doing diddly squat for me. I have to get up and walk it off. Anyone have and ideas on how to get rid of back pain? I am taking a muscle relaxant at night and putting heat on it…still not so good.
Oh, and side note, the answer to my brother’s math questions is this:
FV = [A * (1+r)^n - 1]/r
Answer is : 2400* (1.04)^20 - 1 /(.04) = 71467.38
Thanks to all who tried. Obviously Blake, like us, wont be needing this anytime in the future…not sure why they teach that stuff….

Postin' time
Well kiddies, Easter has come and gone and all that remains is the few extra pounds that now reside on my hips. The Easter bunny was good to Josh and I (thanks mum and dad for the baskets!), and the time off was nice too. Church service on Sunday was a nice change with the choir giving a presentation for much of the first meeting. Nursery was nice as well, only 3 kids were there! Now it’s time for the week rundown (said in a deep movie trailer man voice with glitzy music in the background).
Friday: Josh had to finish this paper he had been working on for like ever, so I went to my parents place for a visit. I had planned on walking the dog, but I got there and it was snowingish so I decided to have a nap with her instead. I have been finding it hard to sleep lately because of my back (I think I'm getting old), so the nap was much needed. That evening, after Josh turned in his paper, we rented Happy Feet and ate supper together, and we weren’t in a rush or anything, it was so nice. Happy Feet started out good, but by the end of it I was bored and felt that if the power went out, I wouldn’t have been upset for missing the end of it.
Saturday: Josh and I spent the morning cleaning up, and believe me, our place needed it. We had gone I don’t know how long without doing laundry, and the dishes were piling up and there were dust bunnies the size of real bunnies (not the type of bunny I wanted to visit this Easter holiday). It was gross. So we spend a good few hours on that. Then, as Josh was getting ready for work, I poured him some soda, and I spilt it all over my newly mopped floors L I was so miffed! Then I drove Josh to work and went to get Vanessa. We hung out for the day, going to Walmart (which was a huge mistake, Bayer’s Lake is not where I want to be on a Saturday before Easter). It was super busy, and we spent most of our time in traffic. We decided to skip the mall and come home to watch a movie. We had gotten a ton of candy from the bulk barn (much to Josh’s disapproval) and it was just what I wanted! It was a good day, until it started snowing and I had to go pick Josh up from work at 9pm. I thought we were going to die. We only had our all season tires on, so we weren’t fully prepared for the winter weather (and why would we be, seeing as, I am pretty sure we all got the memo, it's spring). We did make it home safe and sound, thanks to lots of praying I think!
Sunday: Church, like I said earlier. Then we went to Josh’s parents for supper. We had a wicked turkey dinner, which we didn’t have to pay for so it made it all the better. It was nice to have Vanessa home so I had someone to talk with when Josh was off doing…actually I don’t know what he was doing, but Vanessa and I were chatting, so who cares!
Monday: Yea, that was yesterday, and it just took me a minute to remember what I did. I knew I worked…that’s always a given, but then after work we had Chad and Ashley over for a BBQ. It was nice to have a good supper, and even though it was like winter outside, it kinda felt like summer with all the good food on the inside! I took a picture of Josh and Chad’s plates. I am looking at them now, getting really hungry! I am glad I brought the leftovers for lunch today. Chad's ch-ch-ch-chicken.
This is Josh's rediculously expensive steak, which was meant for the SuperBowl, but the BBQ wasn't put together in time.
Lucy decided to put $2400 away each year for 20 years. Each year, the bank gives her 4% interest on her savings. How much will she have at the end of 20 years? Good luck with that one kids! Message me, or email me, if you get it. I need the answer and the formula.

Just us gals
Sometimes girls just need a change. Ashley and I decided to express our inner awesomeness by getting haircuts! And I mean, y'all know how much fun it is to get a new look! Or maybe some of you don't. But personally, I love it. It wasn't that long ago that I got 4 or 5 inches off and put some wicked foils in it, but I was ready for something new...
We took some before and after pictures, cause we're cool like that. Here, we find the lovely Ashley parking the car, and feeling a little nervous about the upcoming "event". Oh the ponytail...Ashley's favourite hate!Et moi...stoked to get rid of the mess of ponytail which has taken up my life. I am so lazy that I hardly ever make time to "do my hair". I mean, in these pictures, we look hot, but wait...there's the after pictures...and we look smoking!
Congrats to Ashley who bravely got 7 inches sheared off her mane. I think she was a little hesitant to admit her liking for it (7 inches is beaucoup!), but I was speaking with her this morning and she's comin' around! I think she looks stellar. It's going to be so much easier to dry and style.

And...last birthday post!
After the meal was over, they brought over this big ol' wheel for me to spin. I was worried I was going to land on the "It's Your Birthday, now help us clean the table!" Luckily, I didn't and I ended up winning a gift certificate for my next visit there. It was a great lunch. Thanks Lynds, Joyce and Kevin! Oh, and when we got back, Lynds had cupcakes and cookies waiting for us. Mmm, it was a super sweet treat! Which, by the way, is now taking up residence on my ace.
So, after work was over, Josh picked me up and we went home (I was still super full from lunch at this point). I got to open my present from him, and he did well! He got me the greatest little spring jacket as well as a new book and a case for my camera. Thanks baby! We then made our way to Swiss Chalet for supper. I got my regular quarter chicken dinner. I have to admit, I am a scaredy cat when it comes to trying new things. We also got the sun dried cheese loaf, which I love, as a starter. In the picture below, Josh is holding up his hand to show how many b-day events I had for my 23rd! Poor Josh is just jealous that I had more stuff going on for my b-day this year than he has ever had! I guess I will have to cook up something good for his special day in July.
And, more fun still, Ashley and Chad came to supper with us. I was so excited they could come. It's always fun chatting with friends while waiting for food. Thanks for coming guys!
